NJ MANCHESTER — Rent Leveling Board declares new lease at Oak & Mal violates ordinance. The Manchester Township board voted unanimously that a June 2026 lease raising tenant Dennis Cleary's base rent from $620 to $735 monthly violates township ordinance. Board Attorney Debra Rumpf stated the new owners are bound by rent-increase rules but can charge additional fees separately.
A motion to reimburse Cleary $115 monthly for disputed charges failed 2-2-1, but the board voted 4-1 to require the property owners and counsel at the next meeting to clarify lease terms.
