NJ MANCHESTER — Manchester Planning Board approves landfill-to-solar redevelopment and zoning amendments. Vice Chairperson William Barron led the April 6 meeting; Chairperson Felicia Finn was absent. The board unanimously approved NextGrid's courtesy review to convert the closed municipal landfill at 1501 Highway Route 70 into a 20-acre solar farm estimated at 8 to 12 million dollars in capping costs, with the township inspecting and maintaining the site long-term while NextGrid covers solar maintenance.
The board also unanimously approved three rooftop solar installations for Dollar General locations totaling between 61.950 and 68.440 kilowatts each. In ordinance votes, the board unanimously recommended Ordinance 26-28 for council approval and voted 6 to 1 to recommend Ordinance 26-24, allowing garden apartments and townhomes in the PAF-1 zone, with Member James Teague opposing to minimize density. ===BRIEF===
